As a leading Medicare expert, I often get asked the question…
Where should I start when it comes to Medicare?
Here’s the thing, most people start in the wrong place, so today, I want to save you time and tell you exactly where to start.
Ideally, six months before you join Medicare, you need to talk to your doctors and their offices.
You need to ask them what types of Medicare they accept – Original Medicare or Medicare Advantage. And if they accept Medicare Advantage, which of the thousands of plans do they accept?
This is critical because if you want to continue seeing your doctors while on Medicare, you need to know what they accept.
Too often, I see clients who have chosen plans based on recommendations from agents, friends or family, and it’s rarely right for their situation.
Knowing upfront what Medicare plans your doctors accept will save you a lot of time and headache down the road.
By talking to your doctors first, you eliminate many Medicare plans out there and narrow down your choices, leading to a lot less time and confusion.
Medicare can be daunting, but it doesn’t have to be.

I look forward to helping you through your Medicare decision.
